Onstage Wānaka is thrilled to bring the bold, brilliant and bitingly funny musical That Bloody Woman to the stage this winter.
This electrifying New Zealand musical tells the remarkable true story of Kate Sheppard and the fierce fight for women’s suffrage. With a punchy contemporary score, sharp humour and a powerful emotional core, the show follows Kate and her fellow activists as they challenge the establishment, defy expectations, and ultimately change the course of history.
Far from a dusty period piece, That Bloody Woman is vibrant, rebellious and surprisingly modern. It shines a light on the personal cost of activism, the power of collective action, and the courage it takes to stand up and be heard.
